Kupwara, February 11 (KNO) : Journalists were on Monday stopped by police from visiting JKLF founder Maqbool Bhat's residence in Trehgam Kupwara and have been told that they will be let go 'either in afternoon or in evening'. Journalists told KNO that police has erected a naka on the road leading to Bhat's residence and did not allow scribes to move ahead.  "They told us that they wont be allowed to go Trehgam but in afternoon or in evening," a scribe told KNO.  President Journalist Fraternity Kupwara Fayaz Hameed condemned the police action of stopping journalists.  "This is attack on press freedom. Government should take note of this incident and these things must not be allowed to happen," Hameed told KNO, adding that police's action of disallowing journalists from professional duties should be taken seriously.  Valley wide shutdown is being observed to mark 35th death anniversary of Maqbool Bhat who was hanged in Tihar Jail this day in 1984.(KNO)
